Poison system

This is based off the poison system laid out in Mage Revised.


There are several grades and classes and severity of poisons. Grade indicates how much damage it does per cycle, and class indicates how rapid the cycles are, and how long before it runs its course. Severity is the diff on stamina rolls to soak it, if you are able to soak the damage. This allows replication of a wide variety of types of poisons.


Grade 1 - 1 Bashing a cycle

Grade 2 - 2 Bashing a cycle

Grade 3 - 4 Bashing a cycle

Grade 4 - 8 bashing a cycle

Grade 5 - 1 Lethal a cycle

Grade 6 - 2 Lethal a cycle

Grade 7 - 4 Lethal a cycle

Grade 8 - 8 Lethal a cycle

Grade 9 - 1 Aggravated a cycle

Grade 10 - 2 Aggravated a Cycle

Grade 11 - 4 Aggravated a Cycle

Grade 12 - 8 Aggravated a Cycle


Class 1 - instant, no repeat

Class 2 - instant onset, 1 repeat at 6 hours.

Class 3 - instant, 5 - stamina repeats every round

Class 4 - instant, 10 - stamina repeats every round

Class 5 - 1 hour delay, 10 - stamina repeats every hour

Class 6 - 1 day delay, repeats daily until treated.

Class 7 - 1 hour delay, repeats hourly until treated

Class 8 - instant, repeats every round until treated


The three general classes of poison are generally broken down as follows.


Bashing damage = Paralytic, Knockout, Debilitative.

Lethal Damage = Lethal Toxins.

Aggravated Damage = Toxin designed to fell the supernatural.

Paralytic - Grade 4 Class 1 severity 8, injury vector

Debilitative - Grade 1 Class 4 severity 6, inhalation vector.

'Elephant Tranquilizer' - Grade 4 Class 4 Severity 8, injury vector

Severely Debilitating - Grade 5 Class 3 Severity 4, injury vector

Crippling - Grade 6 Class 3 Severity 4, injury vector

Lethal - Grade 7 Class 3 Severity 4, injury vector

'Fell an elephant' - Grade 8 Class 3 Severity 4, injury vector

Assassin's Toxin - Grade 8 Class 5 Severity 6, contact vector

Cyanide Gas - Grade 8 Class 3 Severity 8, inhalation vector


Thorazine – Knockout Grade 4, Class 1, Severity 7, Injection vector.


Ottofuel Fumes - Grade 8, Class 3, Severity 8, Inhalation Vector.


Bloodshatter - Grade 9, Class 4, Severity 8, Contact Vector - Works on Vampires. Made through Thaumaturgical Alchemy


Soulscour - Grade 12 Class 7 Severity 8, contact vector (Made with the distilled souls of innocents and the fear of demons.) Works on anything that does not have the flaw 'Soulless'.


Rupture - Grade 12 Class 1 Severity 9, injury vector, developed with Enlightened Science. Causes the rapid breakdown of cellular bonds, works on any living creature.


Strigmatus - Grade 11 Class 2 Severity 8, inhalation vector. Dark Thaumaturgically created through forbidden alchemy. Causes your blood to tear through your flesh in two stages, forming hardened spines.


The Lord's Rot - Grade 11 Class 7 Severity 7, contact vector. Is the product of a Vicissitude 3 Auspex 1 Animalism 1 combo discipline that allows a Tzimisce to alter bacteria, and by adding the fiends blood to their solution, produces Ghouled Bacteria, that tear the victim apart stubbornly. Rumor has it that there is a strand that may as well be 'revenant'. If so, it is possibly one of the most deadly toxins ever. Works on anything but a cyborg of 75% or greater conversion.
